This version of Muhammara uses almonds instead of breadcrumbs, adding a unique flavor and healthy twist to your breakfast table. You can also try walnuts instead of almonds and experiment with different spices.

Ingredients:

  • 300g dried tomatoes, softened in warm water or strained if packed in oil
  • 1 cup almonds
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • ½ cup olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons pomegranate molasses
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Cumin and thyme, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Soften the Tomatoes: If using dried tomatoes, soak them in warm water until softened, then drain. If tomatoes packed in oil or sauce, simply strain them.

  2. Blend Ingredients: In a food processor, combine the softened tomatoes, almonds, garlic, olive oil, pomegranate molasses, salt, pepper, cumin, and thyme. Blend until smooth and well combined.

  3. Final Mix: Transfer the mixture to a bowl and stir until it reaches a consistent, spreadable texture.

Your Almond Muhammara is ready to serve—enjoy it on fresh bread or as a dip!
